Buy Glock 36 - This is the best defensive choice I can make in a handgun. It's compact so it can go anywhere and the .45 is a proven combat plug. It bounces when fired as expected, but a tight grip and some distance training can reduce that a lot. If you don't mind jumping at the muzzle, this is a great defensive pistol.
Buy one, send the slide to a Glock shop for a predator cut, titanium nitride finish the barrel, install all available extension controls, get a tungsten guide rod, pyramid trigger, two magazine extensions, and what have you. , the best weapon in my opinion.

Throw in a belt and you can go out in summer with no-print shorts and a t-shirt. In fall/winter, have a light jacket or sweater that won't show. With one round in the chamber and seven rounds in the mag (+1 extension) you have 8 rounds of .45 acp easily enough to handle any serious situation.

Don't get me wrong, I love my G43 and now I have the trigger on my Springfield XD 45 and I love it. But the G36 is the epitome of what a concealed carry gun should be.
In my opinion, this is the most underrated Glock model. As a .45 ACP enthusiast, this is a great CC option. I equipped the G36 with Glock night sights, a 3.5lb trigger bar, an aftermarket trigger, and a Pearce +0 grip extension. It has surprisingly little recoil.
Now that the frame comes with the option to mount a light or laser, I expect this model to become even more popular.
Hopefully Glock will continue to update the G36 and expand their single stack lines with the growing success of the G42 and G43.

I bought a Glock 36 5 years ago and have been pleased with how well it has shot. Recoil is very manageable for a .45 ACP with a barrel over 3½". Amazing accuracy out to 15 yards, certainly for close range defense. Standard Glock trigger with moderate slack and decent trigger recovery. Excellent eye alignment with standard sights. I use + on magazines . 1 extension installed which gave me 7+1 ammo. Can't beat the weight and firepower of this pistol for a comparably sized pistol. Glock 36 is my daily carry. Can't find it. Any for concealed carry is better. Being a Glock, it's reliable and I trust that he will protect me if necessary.
