Competition Glocks - Meet the Glock 34: The Glock has a history of being one of the most popular handguns used in competition shooting. It is highly adjustable, offers incredible reliability, and has become a standard in the shooting sport.
The Glock 34 carries killer modifications that make it truly a competition-use rifle. Some might even say that it was created with the help of shooting sports. The question is whether it's worth buying, even if you haven't shot a coconut. Read on to learn more about the Glock 34.
Competition Glocks
The first thing you notice about the Glock 34 is that the size and shape are pretty good, as Glocks go. 34 features eight inches of fun and change. Everything else is pretty Glock styled. Now, while I'm still going to think it sounds stupid, I have to say that I do

Love is like no matter what. That's good. I'm not a big fan of the slide cut off top. I get the point, I just don't like it very much.
Of course, these changes in barrel length are not trivial changes. With a long barrel (5.3 in.) you will get some amazing results from the pistol. On a really good day, I can line up targets in sub-1 inch groups, but average within 2 inches at 25 yards. Not bad! The Glock 34 will definitely be a killer if you take it to a shooting competition. I found it to be like a good laser after hitting the red dot.
Recoil is also quite light, even for a Glock. Compared to the Glock 17 (full size and smaller .34 version), the trigger is less and it's easier to get a solid shot for a quick hit. This lack of recoil really sets it apart for potential sports shooters.
One thing I will not do with the Glock 34 is use it as a carry gun. It is too big and not easy to carry, much like a hidden weapon. I knew there was no point in trying to hide, but I had to be sure. There is no way I would use the 34 as a carry gun. Off the belt is nice, but open carry is not something I'm interested in.
A Ranger's Glock 34 Handgun
Everything else about this pistol is classic Glock. The look, performance, and reliability are what you'd expect. The price is a little high at around $630 for the Gen 3, but it's worth it if you're a competitor.
I don't race often but I love the Glock 34 all the same. It is very interesting to die well without much effort. It's not really a hideous option, but it's not what it's made of. It's made to shoot well and it does it well.

I know my ways. They have been my sidearm of choice since 93 when I bought a Gen 2 Glock 23. Since then I have owned several models in 9mm and .40S & W. Now, with the rise of the 9mm, I carry a Glock 19 or Glock 43 as my EDC weapon. But when it comes to competitive 3 gun games, the Glock 34 is my go to pistol, as mentioned in my previous article, "Glock 34, Perfect for 3 Guns" You also want to capture performance. From your side to the next level, look no further than Body Armor. Shortly after receiving the Gen 4 Glock 34, I spoke with the mad scientist at Agency Arms about the changes. The level of artistry, performance and sheer richness always impresses me. Finally, I will soon have a Glock 34 body armor.
Despite Adopting Sig Sidearms, The Army Awarded Glock A $15 Million Contract
The Arms Institute was founded in January 2015, and can be considered the latest in the latest firearms industry. However, you wouldn't know it if you built or shot one of these highly modified Glocks. The innovation and detail produced by this Veteran and LEO company is outstanding. No part of the pistol was overlooked during the construction of the Agency Arms Glock. In the following sections, I will explore in detail the main components of the Glock 34 body.
The factory Glock polymer frame has less movement as well as less resistance. The durability of the polymer is second to none as proven by years of service in law enforcement and military applications. Until the fourth generation Glock, the frame was a one-size-fits-all. Now that the back of the removable fabric is included in the Gen 4 model, users can choose the right fit to a certain level. Armory takes card customization a few steps further. Glock introduced the finger in the 3rd generation and although it is acceptable, it decided to continue the design of the Gen 4. The body armor, requested by our customer, can grind the finger and add a grip so that the grip is honest and functional.
The trigger also goes under the surgical blade and adjusts it in all the right places. The material removed from the lower part of the trigger guard helps the user to buy the pistol as high as possible. The trigger is fully open and flared for easy use while wearing gloves. Above the trigger on the side of the frame, you will find the "speed cut". Innovative polymer technology and alignment to lower the speed of the pistol to help reduce the nose for faster tracking.
Arms Center offers 3 types of video editing, Combat, Special Hybrid and Urban Combat. I chose the Urban Combat slide because this is the lightest model they offer. The factory Glock 34 already has a window cut into the top of the slide. However, Agency Arms opened it up and removed the extra material from the side of the slide. CNC machined new 2 light windows on the front side also help to reduce weight. One of my favorite changes to the slide is the added requirements on the server front. I prefer the check press from the front of the slide and I always thought that Glock really needed to add this. Instead, Badan Arms responded to the call with 6 new internal components as well as a redesigned rear end. It has become known as a DNA collector due to the nature of the cheese process.
Best Glock Types
To put the Urban Combat light on, the unmodified Glock 34 scope (minus the barrel and recoil spring) tips the scales at 15.2 oz. Body Side Arms Glock 34 weighs 12.4 oz… with Trijicon RMR mounted! I should have compared the two before installing the RMR but a good amount of Loctite and a good zero will not allow me to remove them at the time of writing. However, this comparison still shows how the light is changed. Doing some math and subtracting the known weight of the RMR and mounting plate while adding the weight of the MOS plate, I came up with a savings of 3.4 oz or 22% on the slide factory. Weight reduction does not take away from the performance or durability that has been a hallmark of Glock pistols.
No competition pistol is complete without a working trigger. The Arms Institute was a huge success with their "hand full" collection. This beautiful aluminum alloy is combined with a small grip followed by a comfortable rest. With a small amount of travel and reloading, the shooter is back on target for quick follow-up with the firing squad. Body armor can be either a hand grip to the trigger of your Glock or a trigger assembly to install it. Either way, it's a huge improvement over the factory polymer trigger. Check out Scott's article covering the Arms trigger here.
With weapon speed cycling, trigger reloads and tracking shots, we'll miss something if reloading isn't addressed. Agency Arms offers a solid magwell to help with mag changes. It's not one of those big nasty deals that come with guns blazing. This magwell is a solid piece of aluminum that is cut to accommodate the shooter who carries it either inside or outside the barrel. The perfect balance between functionality and performance. Rebuilds can be done at home or at home and are available for Glock 3 and 4 models.
